Creating Decoration Prices Quickly

Setting up decoration pricing is a crucial step for accurate quoting. We've built several tools to make this process as fast as possible.
1. Use "Save & New" for Similar Items
When you need to create multiple price lists for similar services (like '1 Colour Print', '2 Colour Print', etc.), the "Save & New" button is your best friend.
- After filling out the details for your first price list, click "Save & New".
- This saves your current work and immediately opens a new, blank form, but it cleverly carries over key details like the Vendor Name, Code, and Method.
- This means you only need to change the parts that are different (like the description and the prices), saving you from re-entering the same information over and over.
2. Paste Prices with the "Quick-Paste" Wizard
Instead of typing prices one by one, you can paste them directly from a spreadsheet.
- In your spreadsheet (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets), copy a single column of your unit prices.
- In the Decoration Pricing dialog, click the "Quick-Paste Prices" button.
- Paste your copied data into the text area.
- Select the correct Quantity Band Template that matches your prices.
- Click "Apply Prices" to instantly populate the pricing table.
💡 Pro Tip
The Quick-Paste wizard can also detect setup fees. If you copy a column that includes your unit prices plus one or two extra numbers at the end, the wizard will recognize these as the Setup Fee and Repeat Fee and populate those fields for you automatically.
3. Create and Use Quantity Band Templates
Most suppliers use the same quantity breaks (e.g., 1-9, 10-19, 20-49) across many different services. Instead of re-creating these bands every time, you can save them as a template.
- In the Quick-Paste wizard, click "Manage Templates".
- Here you can create new templates, name them (e.g., "T-Shirt Pricing Bands", "Sticker Pricing"), and set your default template.
- Once saved, you can select your template from the dropdown in the Quick-Paste wizard, ensuring your prices are always applied to the correct quantity structure.
4. Manage Multiple Currencies & Regions
If you work with international suppliers or clients, you can manage multiple currencies for a single decoration item.
- Inside the Decoration Pricing dialog, you'll see tabs for each currency (e.g., NZD, AUD, USD).
- Click the "+" button to add a new currency tab.
- You can then enter a separate set of price breaks for each currency.
- Use the Region field to specify the country or area this price list applies to. This makes it easier to find the right prices when searching later.
5. Keep Prices Up-to-Date
The "Last Updated" column on the main Decorator Pricing table shows you when a price list was last saved. Use this to quickly see which prices might be outdated and need to be reviewed or updated with a new price list from your supplier.
