Quotes vs Jobs: The Conversion Moment

In many systems, a "Quote" is just a piece of paper that turns into an "Invoice." In Brandkit, the transition from a Quote to a Job represents a fundamental shift in your business operations.

The Quote: The Sales Phase

The Quote is about persuasion and selection. It is interactive. You are presenting options to the client:
  • "Would you like 50 or 100 units?"
  • "Which color looks best with your logo?"
  • "Are you happy with the price?"

  • During this phase, the data is fluid and conversational.

    The Sales Handover

The moment of conversion isn't just a status change; it's a Handover Blueprint*. When a client accepts a Quote, the Account Manager uses the *Sales Handover Dialog to bridge the gap between sales and execution. This ensures that:
  • Final quantities match the selected quote tier.
  • Decoration methods (Screen Print, Embroidery, etc.) are locked in.
  • Production notes and hard due dates are clearly communicated.

  • The Job: The Production Phase

Once the handover is complete, the Quote converts into a Job. This is the "Truth" phase. The data becomes structured for your operations team:
  • Size Matrices are generated for purchasing.
  • Artwork is "Pinned" to indicate it is final and approved.
  • Functional Workstreams are initialized with checklists.

  • This separation ensures that your sales team can be flexible and creative, while your production team gets the rigid, accurate data they need to eliminate errors.
